Government Employee Arrested for Abandoning Unconscious Woman in Jorhat

In Assam’s Jorhat district, a government employee allegedly forced a married woman to consume excessive alcohol and then dumped her unconscious in a secluded area near Delhi Public School, Malowpathar, on Tuesday night. The accused, Saranga Goswami, was apprehended by bystanders and handed over to the police.

The woman, employed at the Assam Rice Research Institute in Titabor, was rescued after being found unconscious. Her husband filed an FIR at Pulibor Police Station, alleging abuse by Goswami, who works at Assam Agriculture University. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
