GTAC Tea Sales Jump 27% in April–June 2025

Guwahati Tea Auction Centre (GTAC) sold 32.21 million kg of tea in April–June 2025, up 27% from last year. CTC tea led with 20.46 million kg sold, though average prices dropped by Rs 14.68. Dust tea sales rose to 9.82 million kg with higher prices at Rs 240.20. Orthodox tea doubled to 1.92 million kg, fetching Rs 279.63/kg, driven by global demand. A growing share of premium-priced teas reflects strong market trends. GTAC expects continued growth ahead.
