Guwahati Braces for Thunderstorms and Lightning Till June 13

Guwahati, June 12: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast thunderstorms, lightning, and rain in Guwahati till June 13, issuing a yellow alert for the city.

Weather conditions are expected to improve from June 14, though cloudy skies and occasional rain may continue. Temperatures are likely to remain between 24°C and 34°C, while humidity levels may rise to 95% in the coming days.

The weather pattern is linked to the advancing southwest monsoon across the Northeast. Residents have been advised to remain cautious during thunderstorms and avoid open areas to reduce the risk of lightning strikes.
