Guwahati Cyber Coordination Hub Strengthens Fight Against Interstate Cybercrime

Guwahati: The Joint Cyber Coordination Team (JCCT) hub in Guwahati, established under the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), is playing an increasing role in tackling cybercrime cases that cross state boundaries, a government official said. The hub is among seven such centres created to coordinate investigations involving multiple jurisdictions.

The Guwahati hub has supported Assam Police through cyber intelligence, digital forensics and interstate data analysis. Recent cases include an Assam CID operation involving child sexual abuse material and a Dhubri investigation into suspected mule bank accounts linked to cyber fraud proceeds. The I4C’s Samanvaya and Pratibimb platforms help investigators identify connections between criminals, financial transactions and cybercrime networks operating across different states.
