Guwahati Green Bus Drivers Protest Over High Rental Fees

Public transport in Guwahati faced disruption as nearly 100 green buses remained off the roads due to a protest by drivers and conductors. The protesters accused Multitech, the operating company, of exploitation and demanded a reduction in daily rental charges, which have risen to Rs 7,500 per bus. They staged a demonstration at the ASTC office in Rupnagar, vowing to continue the strike until their demands were met. Drivers also complained about salary deductions and unfulfilled payment promises, worsening their financial strain.
