Guwahati High School Celebrates Grand Centennial Event with Cultural Festivities

Guwahati, February 12, 2025: Guwahati High School (Madrassa), one of the oldest educational institutions in the region, marked its 100th anniversary with a grand centennial celebration at its Paltan Bazar premises. The event, organized by the Guwahati High School Alumni Committee and initiated by the school authorities, witnessed an enthusiastic gathering of students, alumni, teachers, and dignitaries.

The celebration was held under the presidentship of Mukuta Dutta, Vice Chairman of Guwahati Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), and was graced by Assam’s Education Minister Ranoj Pegu. Both dignitaries highlighted the school’s remarkable contributions to the state’s education sector and praised its century-long legacy in shaping young minds.

The event featured a vibrant cultural program that showcased Assam’s diverse heritage. Traditional dance performances, including Assamese Bihu and Manipuri dance, captivated the audience. Students also presented songs, skits, and recitations, paying tribute to the school’s glorious journey.
