Guwahati Municipal Corporation Launches 62 New Waste Management Vehicles

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has introduced 62 new waste management vehicles worth Rs 13 crore in Basistha, Guwahati. The launch included 60 electronic vans for dry and wet waste and two super cleaner vehicles costing around Rs 3 crore each.

GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania highlighted the benefits of the super cleaner vehicles for garbage removal and street cleaning, aiming to enhance the city’s sanitation and cleanliness.

Additionally, GMC recently collaborated with Voice of Environment on the Mission Clean Green Assam initiative, conducting a cleanliness drive and awareness program at Nabagraha Temple. The effort is part of a broader mission to maintain eco-friendly, clean, and plastic-free iconic and heritage sites in Guwahati.

GMC officials, including higher-ranking personnel and the Deputy Commissioner, led the drive, emphasizing the importance of cleanliness and environmental conservation.
