Guwahati Police Arrests 38-Year-Old Man with 18 Vials of Heroin Near Barsapara Stadium

Guwahati, October 14, 2026: Guwahati Police arrested a 38-year-old man after allegedly recovering 18 vials of heroin weighing 22.22 grams during a raid near Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.

According to an update shared by Guwahati Police on its official X account, a team from the West Guwahati Police District (WGPD), operating from Fatasil Ambari Police Station, conducted the raid at a suspected hideout in the area.

The arrested individual has been identified by police as Sajal Dev, 38, a resident of Dhirenpara. Police stated that he was apprehended with 18 vials of heroin during the operation.

Following the recovery, legal action was initiated against the accused, Guwahati Police said in its social media post. Further details regarding the case and the subsequent investigation were not provided in the update.

The operation forms part of the police department’s efforts to act against the illegal possession and distribution of narcotic substances in the city.
