Guwahati Police Crack House-Breaking Case, Recover Stolen Property Worth ₹13 Lakh

Guwahati: Guwahati Police have arrested several people in connection with a house-breaking and theft case in Dhopolia and recovered stolen valuables estimated at around ₹13.08 lakh, police said.

The case relates to a burglary reported on July 18, 2026, when unidentified persons allegedly broke into a residence at Mili Juli Path and fled with gold ornaments, laptops, a DSLR camera, copper wiring and other valuables.

A team from Fatasil Ambari Police Station conducted the investigation and arrested five adults and one child in conflict with law (CCL). Police identified the arrested persons as Rafikul Islam, Mohan Rajbhar, Ramjan Ali, Saheb Ali and Shahidul Islam, who was allegedly involved as a receiver of the stolen gold ornaments.

The recovered items include approximately 57.96 grams of gold ornaments and melted gold, two laptops, a Nikon D5200 DSLR camera with lens, an Amazon Alexa device and around 79 kg of copper wire, AC pipes, wires and cables.

Police said legal proceedings have been initiated in connection with the case.
