Guwahati Police Shoot Suspect Attempting Escape

Guwahati Police shot Ajul Hoque, accused of attempting to murder a woman in Bhetapara, while he tried escaping custody.

Hoque allegedly attacked the woman, with whom he had a prior relationship, using a sharp blade. Both are receiving treatment at Gauhati Medical College. While being transported, Hoque tried to flee but was shot in the leg and recaptured. Police revealed Hoque has a criminal history and both individuals are married to others.
