Guwahati Transport Operators Concerned Over Rising Fuel Prices

Public transport operators in Guwahati have expressed concern over repeated fuel price hikes, saying rising petrol and diesel costs are increasing financial pressure on auto-rickshaw and cab drivers.
However, many drivers said they are hesitant to increase fares immediately as passengers are already struggling with rising living costs and may refuse higher charges.
Drivers also highlighted growing expenses related to vehicle maintenance, insurance, fuel and permits, while some said shifting to electric or CNG vehicles remains financially difficult due to high costs and loan repayments.
