Hatipara Tea Estate Residents Protest Over Decades-Old Road Neglect

Residents of Hatipara tea estate in Jorhat’s Titabar staged a protest demanding reconstruction of a road neglected for decades. Protesters said the road turns into a swamp during monsoons, blocking schools and emergency services. Accusing successive governments of treating them only as a vote bank, they warned of electoral backlash in 2026 if demands remain unmet.
