Himanta Biswa Sarma Pushes Development and Identity Agenda in Dispur Rally

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday highlighted the BJP’s key poll strategies at a rally in Dispur, backing candidate Pradyut Bordoloi and calling his switch from the Indian National Congress a natural move.
Sarma focused on governance, announcing two new medical colleges in Guwahati and promising ₹20 crore for development in each of 60 wards if the BJP returns to power. He also proposed music schools and digital libraries at the ward level.
Alongside development, Sarma touched on identity issues, referencing the ongoing beef row and urging voters to consider cultural values.
The rally reflected the BJP’s dual focus on development and identity as campaigning enters its final phase.
