Historic Visit: PM Modi’s Landmark Tour to Kaziranga and Assam Unveils Ambitious Projects
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to make history as the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Kaziranga National Park during his two-day tour of Assam. Arriving today at 4 pm, Modi will spend the night at Kaziranga before inaugurating and laying foundation stones for projects totaling around ₹18,000 crore. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma disclosed the detailed itinerary, highlighting key events such as the ceremonial inauguration of the ‘Statue of Valour’ for Bir Lachit Borphukan and the unveiling of housing projects under the Prime Minister Awas Yojana scheme. Modi will also virtually inaugurate the Tinsukia Medical College and lay the foundation stone for the Sivasagar Medical College. Additionally, significant projects, including the Barauni to Guwahati gas pipeline, will be inaugurated. The visit aims to honor the legacy of Lachit Borphukan and bolster developmental initiatives in the region. Following his Assam tour, Modi is scheduled to proceed to West Bengal on Saturday evening.
