Houses Torched in Manipur’s Ukhrul Amid Rising Tribal Tensions

Several houses were torched in Manipur’s Ukhrul district following fresh tensions between tribal groups after an alleged assault on a Tangkhul Naga man. Officials said violence erupted at Litan village, where stone-pelting occurred, leading to the imposition of prohibitory orders.

Around midnight, houses belonging to Tangkhul Naga residents were allegedly set on fire by Kuki militants, while some Kuki houses were also torched nearby. Additional security forces have been deployed to control the situation, which remains tense.
