Illegal Truck Parking on NH-37 Near Raha Raises Accident Concerns

Illegal parking of trucks along both sides of National Highway-37 near Raha has become a major safety concern for commuters and residents. Trucks are reportedly parked near markets, dhabas, toll plaza areas, and flyovers, reducing road space and increasing accident risks.

Locals said the problem becomes worse at night due to poor lighting and lack of reflectors on parked vehicles. Several accidents and traffic jams have already been reported in the area.

Transport department officials said action will be taken with support from highway patrol and local police to identify no-parking zones and impose fines. Truck drivers have meanwhile demanded dedicated parking terminals and better highway lighting to improve safety.
