IMD Alerts for Heavy Rainfall in Northeast and Heatwave in Northern India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued forecasts for significant weather events across India. Light to moderate rainfall with occasional intense spells is expected in Sikkim, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, western Arunachal Pradesh, western Assam, and Meghalaya over the next few hours. Additionally, thunderstorms with lightning are likely in extreme northeast Bihar.

Heavy to very heavy rainfall, including isolated extremely heavy falls, is forecast for Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and parts of Northeast India over the next 4-5 days, potentially causing waterlogging and related issues.

Simultaneously, the IMD has issued a heatwave warning for northern India, predicting severe heatwave conditions for the next 4-5 days, posing health risks and impacting daily activities.
