IMD Issues Orange Alert for Heavy Rainfall in Northeast India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Assam and other northeastern states, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall. Assam and Meghalaya are expected to experience heavy rainfall on May 27 and 28, 2024.

Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will see extremely heavy rainfall on May 27, and heavy rainfall on May 26 and 28. Arunachal Pradesh is predicted to receive extremely heavy rainfall on May 28, and heavy to very heavy rainfall on May 27. Sikkim will also experience heavy to very heavy rainfall on May 27 and 28.
