IMD Predicts Week-Long Rainfall in Northeast; Assam Hit by 4.3 Magnitude Quake

The IMD has forecasted widespread light to moderate rainfall in Northeast India for the next seven days due to a cyclonic circulation over Assam. Assam and Guwahati saw showers throughout Thursday, and a 4.3 magnitude earthquake hit Nagaon at 4:30 PM. Temperatures dropped across Assam, with Dibrugarh and Jorhat recording 27.6°C. Heavy rainfall is expected over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on September 26-27 and September 30-October 2.
