Inauguration of Dimasa Heritage Museum and Dishru Research Centre
The Dimasa Heritage Museum and Dishru Research Centre was officially inaugurated at Kashmaipur near Maibang on Wednesday by Debolal Gorlosa, Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council (DHAC). The event was attended by DHAC Chairman Mohet Hojai, RSS leader Ullas Kulkarni, VHP’s Dinesh Tiwari, and other dignitaries.
The ceremony featured the lighting of lamps, followed by a public meeting. Mohet Hojai spoke about the importance of the museum in preserving the Dimasa culture and history. Two books were also released, including one by Hojai and a biography of Gorlosa.
CEM Gorlosa highlighted the historic significance of the museum, calling it a tribute to the Dimasa community’s heritage. He also announced plans for a new museum in Jatinga to represent the region’s tribal communities. The event concluded with a welcome speech from EM Monjit Nading.
