The raids were prompted by allegations of substantial tax evasions amounting to crores of rupees against Jhunjhunwala. The operation spanned several locations, with notable focus in Guwahati city, including areas like Athgaon, Ulubari, and ABC points. The investigation also extended to Shillong, covering Byrnihaat and Nongpur, as well as various locations in Upper Assam.
