India, ADB Sign $125 Million Deal to Improve Water Supply in Assam

The Centre and ADB have signed a $125 million loan to enhance water supply, drainage, and climate resilience in six Assam districts — Barpeta, Bongaigaon, Dhubri, Goalpara, Golaghat, and Nalbari. The project will benefit 3.6 lakh people with continuous metered water supply, real-time monitoring, and storm water upgrades. It also aims to strengthen urban governance and reduce flood risks in Guwahati’s Bahini Basin.
