Indian Railways Launches Advanced Laundry Facilities for Hygienic Linen

Indian Railways introduced state-of-the-art laundry facilities to provide clean linen for AC sleeper class passengers.

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) inaugurated a high-capacity laundry in Guwahati, capable of processing 32,000 bedrolls daily using an advanced tunnel-based system. Similarly, North Western Railway (NWR) established an automatic washing plant in Jaipur with a 56-tonne capacity, ensuring efficient and hygienic linen care.

Officials emphasized their commitment to quality and hygiene, with all linen washed after every use in modern mechanized laundries.
