Indian Tea Auction Prices Rise in First Quarter of 2026

Tea manufacturers in India received higher auction prices during the first three months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, according to Tea Board India.

The average auction price rose to Rs 162.80 per kg in January 2026, Rs 155.93 in February, and Rs 156.19 in March, showing steady increases over 2025 rates.

Tea from the North India zone, including Assam and other northeastern states, fetched higher prices than tea from South India, reflecting stronger demand and better quality.
