Inter-State Vehicle Syndicate Busted in Ledo, Key Accused Arrested

Ledo police unearthed a major inter-state vehicle syndicate in Tinsukia district, where fraudsters trapped owners in fake rental and EMI deals before selling their vehicles outside Assam.

Over 30 complaints were lodged, leading to the arrest of accused Dipak Jha. Police suspect more than 100 vehicles were sold through the racket, mainly targeting Bolero pick-ups. A woman accomplice remains absconding.

Investigations point to backing from car dealer networks. Authorities have urged vehicle owners to be cautious with rental or EMI agreements.
