Justice Abhay Sapre Reviews Road Safety Measures in Assam

Justice (Retd.) Abhay Manohar Sapre, Chairman of the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety, reviewed Assam’s road safety situation at a high-level meeting in Guwahati on January 11. The meeting assessed accident data from the last three years, focusing on fatalities and enforcement trends across districts.

Justice Sapre called for district-specific interventions in accident-prone areas, strict enforcement of helmet and seat belt laws, better trauma care on highways, student awareness programmes and use of CSR support. The Assam government assured that the recommendations would be examined and implemented in a time-bound manner.
