Kamatapur Committee to Hold Massive Protest in Bongaigaon on November 9

The Kamatapur State Demand Committee (KSDC) announced a major protest in Bongaigaon on November 9, demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for the Koch-Rajbongshi community. The rally is expected to draw over 10 lakh participants, including members of AKRSU. KSDC accused the government of giving false promises and delaying the Peace Accord. The group warned of unrest if ST status is denied in 2025 and urged for a tripartite meeting with the Centre and state to resolve long-pending issues.
