Kaziranga to Translocate 50 Wild Buffaloes to Kanha Reserve

Kaziranga National Park will translocate around 50 Asiatic wild buffaloes to Kanha Tiger Reserve in phases to support conservation. Initially, 5–6 buffaloes will be shifted to assess feasibility before scaling up.
The move is part of a reintroduction programme in Madhya Pradesh, as Kanha once had buffalo populations. Kaziranga currently has over 1,000 such buffaloes.
