Khampa Borgoyari Quits UPPL, Rejoins BPF Ahead of Polls

In a setback for the UPPL ahead of Assembly elections, senior leader Khampa Borgoyari rejoined the Bodoland People’s Front at a rally in Chirang. Borgoyari resigned as UPPL vice-president, citing ideological differences and said BPF is better placed to work for people’s welfare. BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary confirmed that several UPPL leaders and around 500 supporters also joined the party. The move is expected to trigger fresh political realignments in the Bodoland region.
