Locals Demand Justice After Murder of CRPF Jawan in Guwahati

In Guwahati, a woman and her lover allegedly killed her husband, Ditumoni Haloi, a CRPF jawan. The incident has led to protests by locals in Tihu, Nalbari, demanding justice for the deceased.

Ditumoni, who was on holiday from his posting in Manipur, arrived home unannounced and found his wife with another man, leading to an altercation. During the confrontation, the woman and her lover allegedly strangulated Ditumoni to death and then took him to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH).

Police have arrested the woman, but the lover, Arup Das, is absconding. Locals, shocked by the murder, staged a protest in front of Arup Das’s residence, demanding swift action and punishment for the accused. The local police had to intervene to control the situation.
