Main Accused in 2008 Akashdeep Rape-Murder Case Gets Life Sentence

Majibur Rahman, the prime accused in the 2008 Akashdeep twin rape and murder case, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by Papum Pare district court. After evading arrest for a decade following his 2012 jail escape, he was nabbed last year. Rahman, a habitual criminal from Assam, committed the brutal crime with two accomplices. Police hailed the conviction as justice finally served.
