Major Drug Haul in Assam: STF and Palasbari Police Seize Illicit Substances Worth Lakhs

In a joint operation, the special task force (STF) and Palasbari Police in Assam’s Kamrup district conducted a successful raid leading to the seizure of a bag filled with illicit drugs. Acting on specific inputs, the operation took place at Mirza on the outskirts of Guwahati city, resulting in a significant drug bust.

The interception of an Alto car with registration number AS 19 R 3844 near the Palasbari Police Station revealed the concealed narcotics during a thorough check. The seized bag contained 23 soap cases filled with illicit substances. Two individuals, identified as Safijuddin Ali and Zakir Hussain, were detained in connection with the drug haul.

The estimated value of the seized drugs is substantial in the illicit markets, reaching several lakhs. The operation, conducted under the supervision of Kamrup Deputy Superintendent of Police Kalyan Pathak, emphasizes the authorities’ commitment to curbing illegal drug activities. The detained individuals are now undergoing further legal proceedings as part of the ongoing investigation.
