Major Fire Damages Sohum Emporia in Guwahati; No Casualties Reported

A massive fire broke out at Sohum Emporia in Guwahati’s Christian Basti early Wednesday, causing extensive damage and panic among nearby residents. The blaze started around 2 am and spread rapidly through the shopping complex.

Six fire tenders battled the flames for nearly five hours before bringing the situation under control. Officials said the cause of the fire is yet to be identified, and a detailed investigation will begin once the site is secured. No casualties were reported, but the building has suffered major damage.
