Majuli-Jorhat Bridge Construction to be Retendered

UP State Bridge Corporation Ltd has withdrawn from the Majuli-Jorhat bridge project, citing payment conflicts with its subcontractor, BRC. Construction, stalled since September 2024, achieved only 32% progress since its launch in November 2021.

The ₹925.47 crore project will undergo re-tendering to appoint a new contractor. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the development, stating it removes a key hurdle for resuming work. Completion was initially slated for 2025.
