Malaria Cases Rise in Assam’s Tamulpur Tea Garden Areas

Health authorities in Assam’s Tamulpur are on alert after 95 cases of Plasmodium Vivax malaria were reported in tea garden areas over the past month.
The outbreak has mainly affected Kalchini Tea Garden, No. 2 Piplani Tea Garden and nearby Nagrijuli areas. Officials said no deaths have been reported, and all patients are undergoing treatment.
The Health Department has intensified screening camps, fogging, mosquito net distribution and awareness drives to control the spread of malaria.
