Man Arrested for Murdering and Burying Wife in Chirang District
A gruesome murder occurred in Assam’s Chirang district, where Gaurau Narzary allegedly killed his wife and buried her body. The incident, which took place in the Janata Bazar area near the Indo-Bhutan border, came to light after 13 days. The half-decomposed body was recovered in the presence of law enforcement officials.
According to police, Narzary, a resident of Sonapur village, got into a domestic feud on the night of May 23, 2024, and, under the influence of alcohol, fatally struck his wife on the head with a stick. The crime was reported by the deceased woman’s brother-in-law, leading to Narzary’s arrest by Amguri police on Thursday.
