Man Killed by Wild Elephant Near Guwahati
In a tragic man-animal conflict, 45-year-old Kamal Kalita was killed by a wild elephant at Deepor Beel, near Guwahati, on Monday night. Kalita, a laborer, was trampled to death in the Miki Para area. Forest officials sent his body to Gauhati Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem. Meanwhile, residents near Nilachal Hills, close to Kamakhya Temple, are on edge due to another wild elephant believed to have strayed from Orang National Park. Efforts are underway to safely return the elephant to its habitat.
