Man Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Wife’s Murder

Nagaon: The Nagaon Additional District and Sessions Court has sentenced Abdul Hamid of Kachua to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife, Momtaz Begum. The court also imposed a ₹10,000 fine.

The case involved allegations of dowry-related harassment and physical and mental torture. The court directed that Hamid undergo an additional six months of rigorous imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine.
