Manipur CM Apologizes for Unrest, Promises Normalcy by 2025

On New Year’s Eve, Manipur CM N. Biren Singh apologized for the prolonged unrest since May 2023, acknowledging the suffering caused by ethnic violence. At a press conference, he expressed regret over the loss of 250 lives, displacement of families, and the enduring turmoil.

Singh assured citizens of progress in peace efforts and pledged normalcy by 2025. He highlighted government actions, including 12,247 FIRs, 625 arrests, recovery of 5,600 weapons, and Centre-backed support for rehabilitation and security.
