Massive Elephant Herd Triggers Fear and Damage in West Karbi Anglong

A herd of around 150 wild elephants has caused severe destruction in the Kheroni area of West Karbi Anglong, damaging crops, homes and stored grain. The situation has forced villagers to stay awake at night to protect their properties. Movement in the area, including emergency vehicles, has become risky. One woman, Khusbu Rajbhar, was killed in a recent attack. The herd has now split into smaller groups, spreading fear across nearby villages.
