Massive Security March Across Assam Ahead of April 9 Polls

In a major pre-election show of strength, around 42,000 security personnel carried out a coordinated march across all police station areas in Assam to boost voter confidence ahead of the April 9 Assembly elections.

The exercise involved Assam Police along with central forces including Central Reserve Police Force, Border Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Central Industrial Security Force, and Sashastra Seema Bal.

Senior officials led the marches statewide, covering both urban and remote areas simultaneously to send a strong message on security preparedness.

Authorities said the initiative aims to ensure safe, free, and fair elections while encouraging higher voter turnout.
