Meghalaya Police Open Fire on Suspected Kidnappers in Goalpara District

A tense situation in Goalpara district unfolded as Meghalaya police fired at two suspected kidnappers on Damra Road in Dudhnoi. The suspects, who had abducted Chuna Mia on August 10 and demanded a ransom of Rs 7 lakh, attempted to collect the ransom despite Mia’s escape. When police intervened, the suspects fled, leading to gunfire. The police recovered mobile phones and a scooter, and the investigation is ongoing as authorities search for the suspects.
