Memorial for Alabai Battle Martyrs Underway in Assam

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that construction is underway for a grand memorial honoring 10,000 Ahom soldiers martyred in the 1669 Battle of Alabai. Located near Alabai Hills in Kamrup, the Rs 150-crore project will feature a 100-foot Hengdang sword and highlight Assam’s resistance to Mughal rule.
