Menstrual leaves available to students at Gauhati University

From now on, female students at Gauhati University (GU) and its affiliated colleges will be able to take menstrual leave. According to an official notification from the university, the Vice Chancellor of Gauhati University has allowed a 2% relaxation in minimum class attendance for female students as’menstrual leave’ for all departments of Gauhati University as well as affiliated colleges.

This will take effect immediately. This follows directives issued earlier this year by the Ministries of Education and Women and Child Development.
