Minor girl from Sonai allegedly kidnapped, found in Byrnihat, accused detained

Cachar Police have freed a young girl, about fifteen years old, who was kidnapped by a youth in the Sonai constituency of the Cachar district.

On Monday, Cachar SP Numal Mahatta announced that, according to the case registered at the Sonai Police Station under Section 366 IPC, a young person from the Hojai district is suspected of kidnapping the little girl who was returning from school.

Following an investigation, the girl was eventually found in Byrnihat, Meghalaya, and the young person who was accused was also taken into custody, the SP reported.
