Mizoram Activist Urges Amit Shah to Act on Myanmar Refugee Influx

Mizoram social activist V.L. Thlamuanpuia has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to address the rising influx of Myanmar refugees, illegal documentations, and cross-border crimes in the state. Since the 2021 Myanmar coup, around 35,000 refugees have entered Mizoram, straining resources and raising security concerns. Thlamuanpuia warned of increased drug smuggling, human trafficking, and fake identification documents among refugees. He criticized the state government for relying on NGOs instead of taking firm action. The activist called for urgent intervention to safeguard national security and local interests.
