Mizoram, Assam Agree to Maintain Status Quo on Border Dispute

Mizoram CM Lalduhoma announced that Mizoram and Assam have agreed to maintain status quo in disputed border areas after fresh tensions in Mamit district. The move follows an incident where Assam officials allegedly damaged rubber plantations in Saikhawthlir village. Deputy commissioners of both states met to ease tensions and pledged better coordination, though each side reiterated its territorial claims.
