Moran Tea Estate Weaving Centre Empowers Women and Preserves Tradition

Moran Tea Estate, owned by Luxmi Tea Co Private Limited, has launched a community weaving centre to preserve traditional crafts and create sustainable livelihoods, especially for women. Guided by the Ethical Tea Partnership’s Community Development Forum, the initiative trains women to weave gamochas and other garments, promoting financial independence and cultural heritage. The project is part of broader welfare efforts covering education, health, women empowerment, youth development and social security, aimed at improving the lives of tea garden workers and their families.
