MP Gaurav Gogoi Calls for Direct Flights Between Jorhat and Delhi

MP Gaurav Gogoi, representing Jorhat, has called for the reinstatement of direct flight services between Jorhat and Delhi. He met with Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu to discuss the issue, emphasizing that the current route via Kolkata adds unnecessary travel time and inconvenience.

Gogoi pointed out that the absence of direct flights has led to higher ticket prices, ranging from 12,000 to 15,000 INR, imposing a financial burden on travelers. He highlighted the importance of direct flights for medical emergencies, business travel, and family visits.

Restoring the direct flights would enhance convenience and stimulate economic growth by facilitating business transactions and promoting tourism in the region.
