MRM Calls for Crackdown on Illegal Beef Shops in Guwahati

The Assam unit of the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), linked to the RSS, has called for the closure of illegal beef shops in Guwahati. Alkas Hussain, MRM Assam convenor, urged the Kamrup-Metro district administration to act against these shops in areas like Hatigaon, Panjabari, Satgaon, and Islampur. He cited concerns over legality and communal harmony, stressing that unregulated cattle trade and illegal beef shops could exacerbate tensions between Hindu and Muslim communities. Hussain emphasized adhering to legal norms to maintain peace and unity.
